Mitaka Ishintei

Pure Japanese style community facility

Mitaka Ishin-tei is a pure Japanese style sukiya-style facility with a large hall with a mizuya (water stall) and booths for a full-fledged tea ceremony, and can be used as a place for traditional Japanese cultural activities such as tea ceremony, flower arrangement, and singing, as well as for community building.

That’s what the name implies, mee. Mee!

After receiving a donation of land from a private individual in 1983, 三鷹市 built Ishin-tei as a Japanese-style cultural facility in 1988. The name of the facility was chosen by the public.

The meaning of this project is to cherish the heart of the donor and to expect the spread of cultural activities from this place, just like a well that never runs out of water.

In the koma (tea room), you can use the tea utensils provided free of charge. Tea utensils can be rented for a fee at the Minami-zashiki and Dai-hall.
