It’s a very special worldview.

This is a museum where you can experience the world of Studio Ghibli, the creator of such animated films as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Spirited Away.

There is an exhibition room where you can learn how animation works and how it is produced, a library and reading room, and screenings of original short animations.

The museum requires a reservation for a specific date and time, but those who live or work in Mitaka City can purchase a special ticket for citizens.

High school and junior high school students: 700 yen

  • From the City Bus Stop at the South Exit of JR Mitaka Station (Mitaka-no-mori Ghibli Museum Route, Meisei Gakuen Route), 2 minutes walk from Murasaki-bashi Bus Stop.
  • 20 minute walk from JR Kichijoji Station Park Exit (South Exit).
  • Take the JR Kichijoji Station Park Exit (South Exit) Bus Stop and get off at Mansukebashi Bridge, then walk 5 minutes.
